New St. Ives Daily Cleanser and Moisturizers

Hey, Glow-getter! Have you heard that St. Ives had officially released new products today? Four daily cleansers and three moisturizers to be exact! I am lucky enough to try it for weeks before the official launch, and I’d love to share it with you. So keep on reading!

I think I started using St. Ives on my later years of grade school (around 2005) since my mom also uses it. Do you still remember the old packaging of St. Ives Apricot Scrub? Yes, I do!! I remember sneaking up into my parent’s bathroom just to use it. Lol!!

St. Ives Gentle Daily Cleansers

What excites me more are the new daily cleansers. St. Ives is known for their scrubs and you know we can’t use facial scrubs everyday. Thanks to St. Ives for releasing their very own daily cleansers.

There are four variants of the new St. Ives Daily Cleanser: Soothing, Hydraying, Blemish Care, and Glowing.

St. Ives Soothing Daily Cleanser is a fragrance-free calming facial wash for gals with sensitive skin. Chamomile extracts, its key ingredient, are famous for its soothing properties.

My thoughts: I’m not a huge fan of unscented products –just my personal preference. Its smell is similar to C*phil. Based on beauty articles, unscented products are best for sensitive skin types since it has fewer chemicals on it.

St. Ives Hydrating Daily Cleanser is my fave of all four because of its yummy scent! Haha! It is said to be made with 100% natural watermelon extract that extensively hydrates skin while removing dirt and impurities.

My thoughts: Aside from the scent, I love that it’s not greasy nor drying on the skin. My skin feels squeaky clean after using this but soft and still moisturised.

St. Ives Glowing Daily Cleanser is made with St. Ives’ staple ingredient, Apricot which is high in antioxidants that rejuvenates all skin types. It is said to leave the skin glowing and moisturised.

My thoughts: It smells fruity… not too sweet and not too strong either. The effect is the same as the Hydrating Watermelon Daily Cleanser, it gives you a squeaky-clean skin but still moisturised.

St. Ives Blemish Care Daily Cleanser is made with salicylic acid and tea tree extract for acne control. It removes dirt, oil, and impurities from skin’s surface to fight breakouts and prevent future ones.

My thoughts: It smells tea tree-like but a bit perfume-y. I haven’t used this for a long time so I haven’t tested yet if it will prevent acne breakouts. Good thing, these cleansers doesn’t leave my skin too dry.

Let’s put it to test!

I tested all four daily cleansers it can remove make up efficiently. For instance, I tried washing my Marc Jacobs waterproof eye liner with all four daily cleansers.

It showed that not all four daily cleanser removed the eye liner make up completely. Both glowing and Blemish Care removed the make up easily and completely while Soothing and Hydrating left some make up marks.

It doesn’t mean that these cleansers are not effective. Whenever I use this make up, I usually cleanse my face with cleansing oil prior to facial wash cleansers since this is very hard to remove. You might just need to double cleanse if you’re wearing waterproof cosmetics.

St. Ives Moisturizers

There are three types of moisturisers newly released by St Ives: Smooth & Glowing Pudding Cream, Bright & Radiant Hydrating Gel, and Renewing Soft Cream.

I know it’s confusing at first as it’s not named such as typical moisturiser creams. What’s pudding cream? I know, right! So I tried all three creams on different parts of my face and used it alternately every day.

St. Ives Smooth & Glowing Pudding Cream is made with apricot. This for me is the mid-sticky of all three. It’s what I will probably use on normal days.

St. Ives Bright & Radiant Hydrating Gel is made with pink lemon and peach. It smells so good too! This is the lightest of all three. It’s a lightweight gel absorbed immediately upon application. I tried using this before make up application and whenever I feel my face is too oily and I wouldn’t want more oil on my face.

St. Ives Renewing Soft Cream is made of Avocado and Coconut Oil. It’s the heaviest or stickiest of all three. It’s best for those who have dry skin. I, personally, find this too sticky.

Overall, it’s too early to say whether it’s effective or not. But on the bright side, St. Ives never fail to deliver on their promise. Currently, my top faves are the Hydrating and Glowing Daily Cleansers and the Smooth & Glowing Pudding Cream!
